Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is a fighting video game based on the television series.
The show was a hit, Fighting games(Street Fighter II, Samurai Shodown, Mortal Kombat, Ect.) were hot in the early 90's. Chances are this game was made to cash on the success of the TV show and the popularity of the fighting genre at the time.

Story
Rita Repulsa wants to take control of Earth with the help of her minions, but first they have to take on the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, who will stop at nothing to defend planet Earth from Rita’s evil intentions for world conquest.
Gameplay
When selecting 1 Player Scenario mode you will be taken to the character selection screen where you will be able to select one of the five power rangers Blue, Pink, Red, Yellow & Black. After selecting your ranger you will have fight each of the four minions and the boss to finish the game. The style of this game is fighting. Each character has the basic attacks and some special attacks unique to each character. To win a match you will have to win the first round and second. The first round you fight as the power ranger you selected. In the second round you fight as Megazord(the powers rangers mecha), against a giant version of the character you defeated in first round. If you lose any of the rounds the game will be over so that means you cannot lose any round(continue is available).After winning a match you are return to the character selection screen to select one of the five power ranger you want to fight the next match. The Green Ranger with his Dragonzord become available for selection after defeating him in the second match, making a total of 6 powers rangers and 2 Zords. If you choose the Green Ranger in the second round you will fight with his Dragonzord. In the last match you can only select Megazord or Dragonzord to fight the final boss Cyclopsis.

The Good
Music (Music composition is really great, tracks are energetic & powerful.
Option Mode (This game offers great options to costumized your game play experience. The music test section is great because it allows to listen to the tracks without other sound effects to enjoy the music better.
The BadRepetition (All fights begin in the same bridge stage, Same pattern you face opponets, Rita's annoying dialogue. Some cut scenes.
Ending (One ending for all power rangers, they could have make individual endings and use the actual ending if you use all the power rangers to complete the game. Unfortunately they didn't do that.)
Replay (Replay value gets kill after finishing the game once since there is nothing to do after beating the game.)
Fighting system (poorly made can not rival other fighting games of it's time in most aspects of the fighting genre.)

Conclusion
I don’t know what the developers of this game where trying to make in here a fighting game or fighting game slash beaten up. All power rangers share most the same moves except for the special attacks this what you get in Beat 'em up characters from series like Final Fight or Burning Fight. This game could have been better if had been a beat 'em up instead of a fighting game. Although fighting is one of my favorite game genres these characters seem to not be designed for one on one fighting, too me they feel like Beat 'em up characters. Most characters in this game are a mess Except for the zords that seem to have a lot of moves like you see in fighting characters. Plus they look blurry and some not very detail. Probability one of the worst fighting games made in the mid 90's. Also One of the worst things in this game is the cut scenes with Rita Repulsa and her annoying repetitive dialogue, Thankfully you can skip this. The only decent cut scenes are of the green ranger story arc and probability the ending, the rest is pretty much garbage. This game a one time play and throw it the garbage because it has zero replay value. If you see this game somewhere for sale run as far away as you can until you are safe from this abomination. ±GGG±
